Public adjusters provide two types of services to the claimant, which are negotiations and representation. Negotiations would entail working with the insurance company to reach a settlement that is satisfactory for both parties. Representation would be the process of appearing in court on behalf of the claimant if litigation becomes necessary after negotiations fail.
